Sub: Declaration of result in connection with CE-2024 for recruitment to the cadre of MTS from eligible GDSs against vacancies for the year 2024 (01.01.2024 to 31.12.2024).
The Chief Postmaster General, Punjab Circle, Chandigarh is pleased to declare the result in connection with CE-2024 for recruitment to the cadre of MTS from eligible GDSS against vacancies for the year 2024 (01.01.2022 to 31.12.2024).2. Instructions contained in Para G of Directorate letter no. 17-08/2018-SPN-1 dated 18.10.2023 read with letter dated 31.10.2023 envisage as under:-Stage VI (List of GDS Candidates for the post of MTS):- List of Successful GDS candidates (Ment list) for the posts of MTS, equal to number of vacancies in each category, shall be published. Process of appointment to the selected post refusal of offer of appointment, similar to the process at Stage-II and ill above will be repeated. This process will be repeated till all the vacancies are exhausted or qualified GDS candidates are not available for appointment.2.1 Directorate letter no. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 05.04.2022, indicating criteria of selection, envisage that performance in Paper-1 only will be considered for selection to the post of MTS. Dte. Letter no 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 10.07.2024 has reviewed the syllabus and pattern of the Examination and it has been decided the component of Local Language test (Paper-III) for the post of MTS shall be dispensed with.
In case of direct recruitment including the appointment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS)2.3 on regular basis to another post, viz. MTS, Postman, Postal Assistant etc., Inter-se Rank/ merit may be decided in the following order:-i. Inter-se rank/merit will be decided as per date of birth whore the older candidate will be placed higher than the younger candidate for all categories including GDS candidates.ii. In respect of GDS candidate, if date of birth is also same, the person who is senior in the common seniority/gradation list of GDS will be placed higher and if there is no common seniority/gradation list thanthe GDS who was engaged earlier on continuous basis shal be placed higher in rank/merit.
The list of selected candidates in accordance with merit viz-a-viz preferences excersie viz-a-viz availability of vacancies in recpective division is enclosed in Annexure-l.33.1 Vacancies notified against UR Category: One vacancy of UR has been filled amongst Govt. of IndiaMinistry of Communicationumeritorious PwBD as elaborated below. Remaining 80 vacancies were filled amongst meritorious GDS candidates
Vacancies notified against OBC Category:- Three vacancies of OBC has been filled amongst meritorious PwBD as elaborated below. Remaining 49 vacancies were filled amongst meritorious GDS candidates of OBC Category.3.3 Vacancies notified against EWS Category:- All 19 vacancies were filled amongst meritorious GDS candidates of EWS Category.3.4 Vacancies notified against SC Category: Three vacancies of SC has been filled amongst meritorious PWBD as elaborated below. Remaining 25 vacancies were filled amongst meritorious GDS candidates of SC Category.3.5 Vacancies notified against ST Category: One vacancy of ST category post was filled amongst meritorious GDS candidate of ST Category and 13 unfilled vacancies for the vacancy year 2024 shall be reported to SSC, in accodane with Dte. Letter no. 03-03/2019-SPN-1 (Pt-1) dated 12.06.2024
All Head of Units of selected candidates are instructed to take necessary action for joining of newly selected candidates as per extant provisions. Any mistake in the name of candidate, Roll number, Community etc. may be brought to the notice of this office immediately and necessary corrections may be made at your end.Divisional heads are requested to verify suitability of PwBD candidate, if any, in accordance with Dte letter No.12-10/2017-SCT dated 24.04.2019 before issue of appointment order.The caste/tribe certificate of the selected candidate, if belonging to SC/ST/OBC category may be verified and it may also be ensured that caste/tribe certificate of the official, if belong to SC/ST/OBC is still figuring in the notified central list of Scheduled Caste/Tribe/Other Backward Class before actually giving him/her appointment
Persons who are not covered under the sceme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs and who’s family has gross annual income as prescribed, are to be identified as EWS for benefit of reservation, in accordance with Dte letter no. 17-09/2019-GDS 26.02.2019.
