NOTICE
Subject: Competitive Examination (CE) for recruitment to the cadre of Postman, Mail Guard & Multi-Tasking Staff from eligible Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) for the vacancies earmarked for GDS and unfilled vacancies of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for Postman/Mail Guard for the vacancy year 2026, held on 12.07.2026 followed by DEST on 06.09.2026 – Declaration of final result.
Reference is invited to this office letter no. Rectt/R-2/PM-MG-MTS/2026/KW dated 25.08.2026, whereby the result of shortlisted candidates for appearing in DEST in respect of PM/MG Cadre, was declared. The Competent Authority has directed the undersigned to declare the final result of 02 aforesaid examinations i.e. (i) CE for GDS to PM/MG & (ii) CE for GDS to MTS. Accordingly, the final result of candidates selected on merit basis is hereby declared as under:
(i) Annexure-I: List of meritorious selected candidates on the basis of combined marks obtained in Paper-I & Paper-II, provided that the candidates qualifying separately in Paper-III & Paper-IV (DEST), of Competitive Examination (CE) for recruitment to the posts of PM/MG Cadre from eligible GDS officials.
(ii) Annexure-II: List of meritorious selected candidates on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I of Competitive Examination (CE) for recruitment to the posts of MTS Cadre from eligible GDS officials.
Note: GDS Candidates who applied for both Postman and MTS Cadre and not found eligible for Postman Cadre due to rejection in Paper-II/Paper-III or not qualified in Paper-III/Paper-IV (DEST) but qualified in Paper-I have been considered for the posts of MTS as per their merit list, with all other candidates of CE for GDS to MTS.
2. Divisions/Units have been allotted to the selected candidates as per merit vis-à-vis order of preference exercised by the candidate, subject to availability of vacancy in respective category in Division/Unit.
3. In cases where more than one candidate has secured equal marks, the inter-se rank/merit has been determined in accordance with the instructions contained in Directorate’s letter no. 04-08/2019-SPN-I dated 11.12.2020. Accordingly, the inter-se rank/merit has been determined for all categories.
4. The service particulars of the candidates, i.e. Name, Roll Number, Actual Community, Sub-Community (wherever applicable), Date of Birth, Date of Appointment, Vigilance Status and Category of service eligibility (GDS to PM/MG & GDS to MTS) have been shown on the basis of the information furnished by the Head of Divisions/Units.
The Heads of Divisions/Units are requested to re-check the service particulars of the successful candidates before issuing the offer of appointment/promotion order. In case any discrepancy is noticed, the same may be reported to this office immediately.
5. In case it is subsequently found that any selected candidate was not eligible to appear in the examination under the existing rules/instructions on the subject, or if any discrepancy is found in the merit list for any reason whatsoever, his/her candidature will be treated as cancelled.
6. Training cum posting order of selected candidates shall be issued by the concerned Head of allotted Division/Unit by 23.09.2026, with clear directions to join the post as per posting order on or before 30.09.2026. Refusal of candidate, if any, may be sent to the Circle Office on the next day i.e. by 01.10.2026 through e-mail.
It may be ensured that no candidate, whose punishment period is still in force, is appointed before the expiry of the punishment period.
7. In respect of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD candidates, “appointment shall be provisional, subject to verification of their Caste/EWS/PwBD certificates. The Head of the Division/Unit shall obtain an undertaking from such officials to this effect at the time of their joining and shall ensure verification of their Caste/EWS/PwBD status within one month.”
8. Requests for revaluation shall not be entertained in view of the instructions of the Directorate.
9. Photo copies of Answer Sheets may be supplied to the candidates, on submission of application under RTI Act. Candidates, who wish to have the copies of Answer Sheets supplied, are required to pay a fee of Rs.25/- per paper plus Rs.10/- towards fee for application under RTI Act in the post office accounts and submit their applications through the Division/Unit concerned along with the receipt for payment of fee in original.
10. The Competent Authority reserves the right to make any change(s) in the merit list of selected candidates for any reason, in accordance with the existing rules and instructions on the subject.
11. The detailed marks/result of all candidates who appeared in the examination(s) and details of filled/unfilled vacancies will be released shortly.
12. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
